JASON COLLINSThe New Jersey Nets' power forward signs his name on this miniature NBA brand basketball Miniature Basketball signed: "Jason Collins". Miniature ball, inflatable to 3-4 pounds, bearing logos of the NBA and of the NBA-NYC store. There is a second, unidentified signature on the ball. Jason Collins(b. 1978) is a center and power forward who joined the Nets out of Stanford University in 2002. New Jersey has made the playoffs every year since Collins' arrival, including a trip to the NBA finals against the Lakers. His twin brother, Jarron Collins, was Jason's teammate at Stanford and now plays with the Utah Jazz. The Collins twins were part of a scandalous recruiting dinner in 1996, which led to the firing of UCLA basketball coach Jim Harrick. The tab for 13 guests came to over $1,000, and Harrick misreported the number of attendees to make it appear less extravagant. The Collins twins ended up at Stanford, where they helped the Cardinals to a Pac-10 championship and a Final Four appearance. Fine condition.
