Trading/Sports Card Signed: “Jason Giambi” in brown ink. 2½x3½. Jason Gilbert Giambi
(b. 1971) is an American retired professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter. As an
Oakland Athletic(1995-2001)and a New York Yankee from 2002, Giambi is one of
baseball's most feared sluggers. A first baseman often moved to designated hitter, Giambi
made four consecutive All-Star teams (2000-2003). He was the American Leagues Most
Valuable Player in 2000. Sporting impressive career numbers (.302 batting, .415 on base,
.549 slugging through 2003), Giambi has batted .311 in four postseaons. Dropped to seventh
in the batting order for Game 7 of the 2003 AL playoffs against arch-rival Boston, Giambi
responded with two home runs, including a clutch homer off Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez
which sent the game into extra innings and made possible an eventual Yankee victory. Fine
condition.
