Autograph note signed: "To Billy/ All good wishes -/ Jason
Robards" in pencil. 1 page/ 4½x6. JASON ROBARDS, SR. (1892-1963) was
an American stage and screen actor. Beginning his career on Broadways in shows
such as Turn To The Right (1917) and Lightnin', but
quickly moved to Hollywood where he started as a leading man in productions such
as The Third Degree (1926), Paris (1929) and
Abraham Lincoln (1930), and eventually moving on to character
roles in movies such as The Bamboo Blonde (1946), Western
Heritage (1948), Return of the Bad Men (1948), and
Wild in the Country (1961). He is the father of legendary actor,
Jason Robards, Jr. From the album collection of child actor BILLY SEAY
(1922-2012), who appeared in many films throughout the decade including
The Greater Glory (1926), My Man (1928), and
The Marriage Playground (1929). Seay would leave Hollywood in the
early 1930s to become a noted artist and illustrator. Toned and soiled. Stained
throughout. Corners rounded. Creased throughout. Binding holes in bottom margin.
