Signed with one or two bars each and lyrics from songs written by Livingston: his movie song Mona Lisa from The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956), the theme to To Each His Own (1946), the 1958 Shirley Bassey song As I Love You, and the theme to the TV show Mr. Ed. First day cover honoring the 1694-1695 New York World's Fair with 2¼x3½ gold-colored metal plate at left. Postmarked World's Fair, New York, April 22, 1964. One 5¢ green-and-white 1964-1965 World's Fair stamp affixed. FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. American composer Jay Livingston (1915-2001) won Academy Awards for Mona Lisa, Buttons and Bows (The Paleface, 1948), and Que Será Será (The Man Who Knew Too Much, 1956) and was nominated for an Oscar for Tammy (Tammy and the Bachelor, 1957). In addition to his songs for Hollywood films, Livingston penned many popular television themes, including those for Bonanza and Mr. Ed. Lightly worn at corners and edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
