Actor Jay Silverheels, better known as Tonto on TV's The Lone
Ranger, signed this AFTRA contract in 1966 to hire Allen Connor-Alexis
Corfrio Associates as his radio and TV agent for 1 year in return for a 10
percent commission.
Contract signed "Jay Silverheels" as Artist in blue ink
and by an agent of Allen Connor-Alexis Corfrio Associates, Inc. in black ink.

April 1, 1966. Standard Exclusive Agency Contract by the American
Federation of Television and Radio Aritsts. Silverheels signed this contract to
hire Allen Connor-Alexis Corfrio Associatesas his radio and TV agent for
1 year in return for a 10 percent commission. Silverheels (1919-1980,
born Harold J. Smith on the Six Nations Reservation, Brantford, Ontario, Canada)
was the son of a Mohawk Indian Chief and made a name for himself as a
star lacrosse player and amateur boxer before entering films in the mid-1940s.
He appeared in many films, often in uncredited roles, before assuming his most
famous role as faithful Indian companion Tonto in the TV series The Lone
Ranger (1949-1957).Silverheels was a frequent guest star on TV
and had small roles in several westerns after The Lone Ranger. Lightly
toned and creased. Signatures touch. Light tears in left and bottom edges of
page 1. Staple holes in top left corner of page 1. Bottom edge of page 1 is
lightly discolored. Carbon copy marks. Lightly rounded and worn corners.
