JAYE P. MORGAN. Photograph signed: "Love/Jaye P." B/w, 8x10 overall, image 7x8¾ (one surface). Name imprinted at lower margin. Multi-talented Jaye P. Morgan (born Mary Margaret Morgan in 1931), a singer, actress and comedienne who became a household name in the 1950s and 1960s, is best known for her antics on TV's The Gong Show (she also appeared as herself in the made-for-TV movie, The Gong Show, in 1980). Morgan, who made her TV debut as a vocalist on Stop The Music, later had her own show, The Jaye P. Morgan Show (1956) and appeared on a number of TV variety programs and series, including My Three Sons and The Odd Couple. She has also appeared in a number of feature films, including Night Patrol (1984), Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002). Morgan, whose husky voice became her trademark, has also recorded and appeared in nightclubs and in concerts and recitals. She had her biggest hit, "Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries", in 1951 and five Top 10 hits, including "The Longest Walk" and "That's All I Want From You", in 1955. Morgan, who was a class treasurer in high school, adopted her stage name from financier J.P. Morgan. Fine condition.
