Playbill for a production of My Name is Quilon at the
Lyceum Theatre in New York. French actor Jean-Pierre Aumont (1911-2001)
made his first film in 1931, reaching stardom in Jean Cocteau's play
The Infernal Machine (1934). He fled France in 1942, made one
Hollywood film, and then joined the Free French armed forces, fighting in North
Africa, Italy and France, suffering two combat wounds, and winning his country's
highest military honors. He appeared in films on both sides of the Atlantic
for the next fifty years. He portrayed Rimsky-Korsakoff in Song of
Scheherazade (1947). His last two films were Jefferson in Paris
(1995) and The Proprietor (1996). Large crease down center. Corners and
edges worn. Toned. Light surface creases. Ink transfer. Otherwise, fine
condition.
