Typed Letter signed: "Jean Pierre/Aumont", 1p, 8¼x10¾. No
place, 1976 June 9. In full: "Your letter of April 29 th was forwarded
to me only a few days ago. I would have liked to be able to help you, but
everything I knew or felt about Vivien is in my book, and would therefore be a
repetition of what I have already written. I am sure you will have many other
sources about Vivien's carreer [sic] and character, and wish you the best
of luck in your endeavour [sic]. Most sincerely". French actor Jean
Pierre Aumont (1911-2001) made his first film in 1931, reaching stardom
in Jean Cocteau's play The Infernal Machine (1934). He fled France in
1942, made one Hollywood film, and then joined the Free French armed forces,
fighting in North Africa, Italy and France and winning his country's highest
military honors. He appeared in films on both sides of the Atlantic for the
next fifty years. His last two films were Jefferson in Paris (1995) and
The Proprietor (1996).Fold creases through "J" of Jean and "A" of
