Yankees, the Boston Red Sox swapped minor leaguer Bagwell, born Jeffrey Robert Bagwellin
1968, to the Houston Astros in 1990 for a fractional season of bullpen help. Bagwell, who
had grown up in Boston wanting to play for the Sox, instead became National League
Rookie of the Year in 1991. A four-time All-Star (1994, 1996, 1997 and 1999), Bagwell
was National League MVP in 1994, when he batted .368 (.451 OBP and a league-leading
.750 slugging!), led the league in both runs scored and runs batted in, and garnered
earned a Gold Glove at 1B. He also hit more than 40 homers and stole more than 30
bases in the same season twice (1997, 1999) and earned three Silver Slugger awards
(1994, 1997 and 1999). Lightly toned, soiled and stained. Signature is lightly smeared in
places but legible. Otherwise in fine condition.
