JEFF DANIELS
Signed B/w newspaper article about a young Daniels and Amy Wright being cast in the Broadway play Fifth of July, which closed one year before Daniel's big movie break in Terms of Endearment.
Newspaper article signed "Jeff Daniels" in blue ink. B/w, 2¾x5. This is part of an article about Fifth of July, a Broadway play that ran for 511 performances between 1980 and 1982, and mentions the casting of Daniels and Amy Wright in this production. This play closed one year before the release of Terms of Endearment, which is considered Daniel's breakthrough role. Daniels, born in Athens, Georgia in 1955, is an American actor, director and writer. A versatile leading man who's played heroes and villains both, Daniels got his start on the stage; he has a total of four Broadway appearances, as of this biography, since 1977, including the comedy Fifth of JulyHe made his TV debut in a 1980 episode of Hawaii Five-O and his screen debut that same year in A Rumor of War; since then, he's had over 60 TV shows and movies to his credit as of this biography. His breakthrough role was as Debra Winger's husband in Terms of Endearment (1983). Some of his more memorable performances include a dual role as a gallant movie hero and self-absorbed movie star in The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), a man who's scared of spiders who's forced to destroy a colony of them in Arachnophobia (1990), and as Jim Carrey's friend in the incredibly stupid - and successful - Dumb and Dumber (1994) and a troubled Vietnam War veteran in the TV movie Redwood Curtain (1995). Lightly toned. Edges are irregular. Otherwise in fine condition.
