JEFFERSON AIRPLANE: GRACE SLICK, MARTY BALIN and SPENCER DRYDEN Three members of the group sign this 15x10 candid black and white photo Photograph signed: "Grace/Slick", "Marty Balin" and "Spencer Dryden" all in blue felt tip, b/w, 15x10. GRACE SLICK (b. 1939) was the lead singer for the rock group Jefferson Airplane (1967-1973) and its successor, Jefferson Starship (1974-1988). She also released four well-received solo albums in between touring and recording with the groups. Although Slick seldom performed after 1990, she published her autobiography, Somebody to Love?: A Rock-and-Roll Memoir, in 1998. Her biggest hits include "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit" (1967), a celebration of drug-taking emblematic of late 1960s counterculture. Singer/songwriter/guitarist MARTY BALIN (1942-2018) was a co-founder of Jefferson Airplane. Regarded by some critics as Jefferson Airplane's finest instrumentalist, he was affectionately known to his fans as "God". In addition to his hits with Airplane, Balin had a Top Ten solo hit of his own: "Hearts" (1981). SPENCER DRYDEN (1938-2005) played drums with Jefferson Airplane during its peak years, 1966-1970. Dryden was already well known to San Francisco area rock fans when he joined the group. All three signers were present when the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Minor flaws from negative have been reproduced in photo. Otherwise, fine condition.
