A letter from the actress apologizing for the delay in her letter to
a fan, saying that her desk has been a mess and she didn't see it. She then goes
on to thank them for their letter, and extends holiday wishes
Autograph letter signed: "Jennifer Holt", in blue ink, 6x9.
Two pages, with original letter on verso and Holt's handwritten response on
front. In full: "Dear James Excuse me seeing the back of your nice
letter, but my desk is such a 'rat's nest', I can't find anything! This
[illegible] I thank you + I wish you a happy Christmas and a wonderful
New Year - God Bless us all! Yours truly". Jennifer Holt (1920-1997),
starred in a long list of B-Westerns in the 1940s for both Universal
(under contract 1942-1943, occasional appearances thereafter) and Republic
Pictures. She made her film debut in 1941's Stick To Your Guns, billed as
Jacqueline Holt in honor of her father, Western actor Jack Holt. From
1950-1951, Holt hosted a children's TV show, Panhandle Pete and
Jennifer, which won a 1951 Peabody Award, and she also made guest
appearances on several TV shows, including The Gabby Hayes Show
(1956), Tales of Wells Fargo (several episodes, 1957-1959) and Perry
Mason (1958). Light surface creases. Corners slightly worn. Slightly toned.
