Photograph Signed: “Jenny Moss/ (Lucille)”. B/w, 4x5½. Jennifer Moss (1945-2006) was a
radio and TV actress who first became famous for her performance on the BBC radio
programme Children's Hour. Moss was also a singer who performed in a West End musical
and several other projects in which she sang, including the beat film Live It Up!. Moss released
her debut single, “Hobbies”, but her music career never took off. She began appearing on TV
programmes including June Evening and Magnolia Street in the 1960s. When she was only
15, she became a member of the cast of the TV soap Coronation Street, playing wild child
Lucille Hewitt. Following the death of her father, Moss began drinking to excess to numb her
pain. Her problematic relationship with alcohol ultimately led to her being let go from
Coronation Street in 1974. She struggled with alcoholism in the 1970s and 1980s, but
ultimately got a handle on her addiction and returned to acting. Corners and edges gently
