In full: "Thanks for your letter requesting information on the names and addresses of living former Governors and U. S. Senators from West Virginia. The Governors include: "Hon. Okey L. Patteson, 831 Main St., Mt. Hope, W. Va. 25880; Hon. Cecil H. Underwood, President, Bethany College, Bethany, West Virginia 26032; Hon. W. W. Barron, Eglin AFB, Florida; Hon. Hulett C. Smith, Harper Road, Beckley, W. Va. 25801. There are two former U. S. Senators still living. They are: Hon. Hugh Ike Shott, Chairman of the Board, Daily Telegraph Printing Co., 412 Bland St., Bluefield, W. Va. 24701; Hon. Chapman Revercomb, 917 Edgewood Drive, Charleston, West Virginia 25302. With appreciation for you interest and with best wishes, I am Truly". Jennings Randolph (1902-1998), a West Virginia Democrat, served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1933-1947. Defeated for re-election in 1946, he left elective office for a decade, before returning to the U.S. Senate (1958-1985). Randolph's service in Congress began with Franklin Roosevelt's first term and ended with Ronald Reagan's second, more than half a century later! Lightly creased with folds, not at signature.
