date. To Cath Haynes, Barnstaple, N. Devon (England). In full: "Thank
you for your letter. I will be finishing 'Breaking the Silence' on the 16th
November. It has been a lovely play to work on. I will then be returning to the
U.S. After all the theatre I have been doing, I am looking forward to filming
again. Silas Marner, which I worked on with Ben Kingsley, will be shown on
B.B.C. over Christmas. I hope you like the photo I have enclosed. All the best."
An English stage, screen and TV actress trained in ballet, Jenny Agutter (b.
1952) played critically acclaimed roles in The Railway Children
(1970), Walkabout (1971) and Logan's Run (1976). She earned her
first Emmy for The Snow Goose (1971). Agutter played a nurse smitten with
a werewolf in An American Werewolf in London (1981). In 1985's
Breaking the Silence, she played the devoted servant of a Russian
aristocrat attempting to cope with the revolution and civil war. Agutter is
active in child-oriented charities and has published a book of her
photographs.
