records. The multi-talented Jerry Jordan (b.1944) grew up in a church
going community, getting his earliest influences singing at Sunday services. In
the 1970s, he, his brother and their wives formed the country Gospel quartet
The Jordans. The Jordans toured the Bible belt church circuit, the
Grand Ole Opry and even Madison Square Garden. Jerry, also a humorous,
recorded the comedic monologue "A Phone Call from God" in 1975. The
record was an instant success, selling 250,000 and earning the Country Music
Comic of the Year Award (1976). In recent years Jordan has returned to his
life-long love of painting and continues to support Gospel events throughout the
