In 1988, Jerry Seinfeld had won the American Comedy Award for Best Comedy Club Stand-Up Comic-Male. Jerry Seinfeld's career as a nightclub stand-up comedian led to him starring as himself on what arguably became the best sitcom of the 1990's. The pilot was shown on July 5, 1989, and the series premiered on May 31, 1990, just two months after the 1990 American Comedy Awards. In 1992 and 1993, Seinfeld was awarded the American Comedy Award for Funniest Male Performer in a TV Series (Leading Role) Network, Cable or Syndication. The 180th and final episode of Seinfeld aired on Thursday night, May 14, 1998, at 8 P.M. on NBC. Winner of ten Emmy Awards, Seinfeld was honored by the United States government in 2000 with the issuance of a 33¢ postage stamp captioned "Seinfeld/Sitcom Sensation". Slightly creased at corners.
