JERRY VAN DYKE. Carbon Contract signed: "Jerry Van Dyke" in ink as Performer, 2p, 8½x11, front and verso. No place, 1967 August 4. "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract for a Single Television Broadcast and For Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week" between Yorkshire Productions and Van Dyke for his appearance on Kraft Music Hall; taping date 8/13/67, air date 10/18/67. Van Dyke was to be paid $7,500 for his appearance as "Principal Performer". Also signed by a representative of Yorkshire Productions, Inc. Comedian Jerry Van Dyke is the younger brother of Dick Van Dyke, in whose shadow he has generally dwelled. A talented comic type, Jerry has generally played a more stupid, goofy variation of Dick's role, such as on The Dick Van Dyke Show, on which he played the brother of Dick's character. Van Dyke appeared intermittently on a number of television series, including My Mother the Car (1965-66), until he added many a yuk to Coach (1989-1997), as Luther, the loyal but often clueless assistant football coach. Of his handful of film roles, his most notable was in Angel in My Pocket (1968) alongside another TV comedy star, Andy Griffith. Lightly creased with folds, not at signature. Staple holes and 2 file holes at upper margin, which has pencil note (unknown hand) at upper right corner. ¾x½-inch paper loss at upper left blank margin, slightly soiled at upper right margin. Overall, fine condition.
