white baseball with red stitching. An ordained Baptist Minister and Civil Rights
activist, Jesse L. Jackson (born in 1941) formed PUSH (People United
to Save Humanity) in 1971. Jackson, who had begun working with the Southern
Christian Leadership Conference in the mid-1960s, had helped found the Chicago
branch of Operation Breadbasket, SCLC's economic arm. From 1967-1971, he
served as Executive Director of Operation Breadbasket, whose economic focus
was expanded to include social and political development with the establishment
of PUSH. Jackson sought the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1984 and
1988. Fine condition.
