Black and white up close photograph signed "Love &
Peace"
Photograph Signed: "Love & Peace/Jill Corey", b/w 8x10
(caption at lower edge). Pop singer Jill Corey (born Norma Jean Speranza in
1935) sent a demo tape to Mitch Miller, who phoned her for an audition and
was soon promoting her for records and television. She appeared on TV with Ed
Sullivan, Johnny Carson and Dave Garroway (who picked her performing name
out of a phone book). She became the youngest featured singer at New York's
Copacabana, and released a number of pop records. Her biggest hit was "Love
Me to Pieces." She was married to Major League baseball player Don Hoak until
his death. Fine condition.
