3½x2, Affixed to the sheet are a newspaper photo of her, and a notice of a
book signing. English author Jilly Cooper (b. 1937) wrote a national
newspaper column about marriage, sex and housekeeping. Its success led to her
first two (nonfiction) books, How to Stay Married (1969) and How to
Survive from Nine to Five (1970). She wrote the first of many romance
novels in 1975, the best known being the multi-volume Rutshire
Chronicles. These novels, set in modern times, feature complex plots, and
multiple characters leading glamorous public lives and often unhappy private
ones. Cooper was honored with an OBE in 2004 for her service to
literature. Irregularly cut edges. Toned at right edge. Fine condition.
