Typed Document Signed: "Jim Backus", 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1962 February 15. He authorizes General Artists Corporation to accept delivery of checks or sums of money payable to him and to indemnify the corporation for any resulting loss. Backus (1913-1989) played millionaire Thurston Howell III on the TV sitcom Gilligan's Island (1964-1967) and its sequels. He also played James Dean's father in the film Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and was for many years the voice of the animated cartoon character Mr. Magoo. Lightly creased. Folds, light horizontal fold touches the upper loops of the "J" in Jim and "B" and "k" in Backus. Chipped at blank right edge. Ink notes (unknown hand) at lower right margin. Staple holes at upper left blank corner, 2 file holes at upper blank margin. Overall, fine condition.
