in Boston, Massachusetts. Payable for $31.00 to Joe Laccitallo (endorsed on
verso). Endorser merits further research. American sportscaster Jim Britt
(1910-1980) broadcast MLB games for the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland
Indians during the 1940s and 1950s. For a time he also broadcast games for
the Boston Braves until the club relocated to Milwaukee in 1953. Britt moved to
Cleveland in 1954 to broadcast for the Indians, where he remained until 1957. He
returned to Boston in the late fifties, hosting popular a popular bowling show
and the program Dateline: Boston, his first non-sports related
broadcast of his career. Before retirement he served as a golf broadcaster on
ABC. He is a member of the Massachusetts Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Edges
perforated. Bank cancellation holes in left margin. Toned. Corners rounded.
