Printed photograph signed in ink: "Jim Catfish/Hunter" in blue ink. B/w, 10x8 overall, two images, 2½x3½ and 6½x7 (one surface). Jim "Catfish" Hunter was baseball's first modern-day free agent and Hall of Famer, who pitched for the Kansas City and Oakland A's (1965-1974) and New York Yankees (1975-1979), died on September 9, 1999 of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, at the age of 53. He had led the Oakland A's to three consecutive World Championships (1972-1974) and played on three pennant-winning Yankee teams (1976-1978), winning the World Series in 1977 and 1978. Surface scratches (not evident head on). Creased. Creases at upper left blank margin and lower right corner. Corners rounded. Otherwise, fine condition.
