comedian. Dale got his start a stage actor and stand-up comedian. He has
over 40 movies and TV shows to his credit, his most recent as of this biography
as the narrator in Pushing Daisies (2007). But Dale's probably best known
as Dale in eight of the Carry On films, beginning with Carry On
Cabby (1963). Dale also wrote the title song for Gregory Girl (1966),
which became a Top 10 hit in the United States. His stage credits include
seven Broadway appearances, where he's earned a Tony Award for his
performance in the title role of Barnum (1980-1982, 854 performances)
and numerous straight and comedic performances in London's National Theatre and
Old Vic Theatre. Disney fans may recognize Dale's voice as that of Dr.
Terminus in Pete's Dragon (1977), while Harry Potter fans may
recognize his voice as the narrator on the audio book version of the Harry
Potter series in the United Stated and Canada. His work on the Harry
Potter series earned him two Grammys and made him a Member of the Order of
the British Empire. Adequate contrast of signature. Fine
