The Garfield creator signs a letter and sends an autograph to
an auction.
Typed Letter signed: "Jim Davis" in red felt tip, 1 page,
5½x8½. No place, 1995 March 20. On letterhead with an image of Garfield
printed at top and written to "Dear Rev. Ralph". In full:
"Enclosed is an autographed GARFIELD print for your auction. With it I
send my wishes fo a fun successful event. Sincerely," Accompanied by:
Printed Art signed: "Thanks!/Jim Davis" in black felt tip,
Color 10x8. With an image of Garfield printed at the left of his signature.
Robert "Jim" Davis (born in 1945) debuted "Garfield" in 41 newspapers
in 1978. As of 2007, "Garfield" appears in some 2,500 newspapers
worldwide, and the cynical, lasagna-loving cat has also been seen on an
animated TV series, Garfield and Friends (1988-1994), and in a
2004 feature film, Garfield.
Garfield also has his own website and a fan club, and he and his buddies, owner
Jon Arbuckle and Odie, the family dog, have appeared on greeting cards and
licensed merchandise. Fine condition.
