JIM RINGO
The Hall of Famer center is shown posing in the snapping position in this signed black and white photograph
Inscribed Printed Photograph signed: "Jim Wiggins/ Very personal Regard/ and best Wishes/ Jim Ringo", B/w 8x10. Hall of Famer Jim Ringo (1931-2007) played 11 years with the Packers and four more with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was named All-League seven times and played in 10 Pro Bowls during his 15-year playing career from 1953 to 1967. Never weighing more than 235 pounds, he utilized his speed and football intelligence to dominate his opponents. When coach Vince Lombardi took over the Packers in 1959, Jim was the only already-established All-Pro on the roster. Lombardi built his offense around Ringo. It's estimated that Ringo handled the ball more than 12,000 times in his career, including around 1,000 snapbacks for punts or placekicks. Two years after his playing career came to an end, he began a twenty-season career as an NFL coach. He served as a coach on the offensive side of the ball and as a head coach for several teams. Ringo was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1981. Lightly creased. Pencil (unknown hand) and stamp notes on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
