Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Beth/Best of Luck/from/Jim
Taylor". B/w, 8x10. Jim Taylor, born James Charles Taylor in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana in 1935, was an American pro footballer from 1958 to
1967, inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 1976. He spent most of
his career with the Green Bay Packers. A ferocious runner, rugged blocker and a
prime disciple of the "run to daylight" doctrine, Taylor was a key part of coach
Vince Lombardi's offense. Taylor was a 1,000-yard rusher for five straight
years (1960-1964). In his career, he has rushed for 8,597 yards, caught 225
passes, amassed 10,538 combined net yards and scored 558 points. Taylor led
the NFL in rushers and scorers, and had a record 19 TDs in 1962. Taylor
and fellow Hall of Fame back Paul Hornung powered the Packers to four NFL
titles. Slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
