JIM TAYLOR
Signed page from 1962 Green Bay Packers Yearbook of Taylor in shorts and
taking a handoff in practice. One player on this page says tackling the

Magazine page signed "Jim Taylor" in green ink. 8¼x11 overall with b/w
5½x7¼ photograph, one surface, signed on photograph. Captioned: "Powerful
muscles of Jim Taylor's legs/show why he's so tough to bring/down - 'Like
tackling a piano,' one/opponent said.". Page taken from the Green Bay Packers'
1962 Yearbook. Taylor, born James Charles Taylor in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana in 1935, was an American pro footballer from 1958 to 1967 who was
inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 1976. He spent most of his
career with the Green Bay Packers. A ferocious runner, rugged blocker and a
prime disciple of the "run to daylight" doctrine, Taylor was a key part of coach
Vince Lombardi's offense. Taylor was a 1,000-yard rusher for five straight
years (1960-1964). In his career, he has rushed for 8,597 yards, caught 225
passes, amassed 10,538 combined net yards and scored 558 points. Taylor led
the NFL in rushers and scorers, and had a record 19 TDs in 1962. Lightly
toned and creased. Page was neatly torn from magazine on left. Signature is
faint but legible. Otherwise in fine condition.
