As editor of Hollywood Low-Down magazine, he solicits interest in a
proposed radio program of "Hollywood news and gossip."

7¼x10½. Hollywood, California, no date. On letterhead of The Hollywood
Low-Down, with typed address of Chas. Mank, President, Movie Fans Friendship
Club, Staunton, Illinois. In full: "HOLLYWOOD LOW-DOWN has just
produced a 15-minute program to be released on a national hook-up. A sponsor is
interested in such a program, and it is with that in mind that we ask you to
give us your reaction. The broadcast will consist of last minute news and
gossip of the motion picture world and its stars. When we say last minute
news, we mean just that, because being a part of the Hollywood scene,
HOLLYWOOD LOW-DOWN is at all times an inexhaustible source of last-syllable
news and gossip. We will bring you an all-star band, the atmosphere of the
studios, and from time to time, celebrities of the motion picture world. This
program will conform to your idea of what a Hollywood news and gossip
program should be, and during the course of its broadcasting, cities and towns
throughout the United States, boasting fan clubs, will be honored by LOW-DOWN's
'traveling microphone.' Let us know if this program is of interest to you. A
sponsor, naturally, wants to know in advance to what extent his listeners will
be interested. Suggest features that you would like to see incorporated in this
broadcast. Hurry with your reply, and we will hurry in bringing this program to
you. Kindest personal regards". Jimmy Valentine was the editor of
Hollywood Low-Down, published from 1933 to 1934. It became the official
messenger of the Fan Club Federation, established in 1934. Multiple
