JIMMY WYNN The small but powerful MLB hitter signed this color 3½x4¾ photograph from when he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers Photograph signed: "Jim Wynn". Color, 3½x4¾. Jimmy Wynn (b. 1942) is an MLB outfielder who was selected to three All-Star games. He played in the league for 15 seasons, mostly with the Houston Astros (1963-1973). Because he played most of his career with poor Houston Astros teams in a pitcher-friendly park, Wynn didn't receive the recognition he deserved. He made only one All-Star appearance as an Astro, but made the All-Star team both years he played for the Dodgers (1974-1975). While the outfielder's play with the Dodgers was spectacular, he did have some better seasons statistically while in Houston that went unrecognized. In his best season (1969), he didn't even earn an All-Star selection. Wynn had a .436 OBP, smashed 33 home runs, and stole 23 bases on 30 attempts. Nicknamed "the Toy Cannon" because he had such power with a small frame, the outfielder came just 9 home runs short of joining the esteemed 300 home run club. He had a good eye at the plate, drawing 90 or more walks eight times. He concluded his 15-year career with a season each with the Braves, Yankees, and Brewers, retiring after 1977. In 2005, Wynn's #24 was retired by the Houston Astros. Fine condition.
