first big hit, "Heads Carolina, Tails California.," and performed in 215 shows.
Her 1998 album, I'm Alright, went double platinum, confirming her
appeal to a broad musical audience. Her other number one hits have included
"Bye, Bye," "Lesson in Leavin'", and "My Give a Damn's Busted." Messina has
been honored by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music,
