Carbon Contract signed: "Joan Bennett" in ink as Performer, 4p, 8½x11, front and verso. No place, but probably New York City, 1969 January 20. Headed: "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract for Single Television Broadcast/and for Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week". JEM Productions, Inc. contracts with Bennett for her appearance on That Show on January 25, 1969 in New York City. Bennett was to be paid $165 plus 10% agency commission for her performance as "Herself". Also signed by a representative of JEM Productions, Inc. In the year she signed this document, Bennett was appearing on the daytime gothic soap, Dark Shadows (1966-1971). Joan Bennett (1910-1990), the daughter of stage actor Richard Bennett and sister of screen actresses Constance and Barbara Bennett, starred in over 40 films, including Bulldog Drummond (1929), Little Women (1933), Father of the Bride (1950) and We're No Angels (1955). Active on the stage in the 1960s, she also appeared in a number of made-for-television movies and was a guest star on several series. Lightly creased with folds, not at signatures. Stapled at upper left blank corners. Minor show through of type on verso. Fine condition.
