Eddie & Betty Sousa, Union City, California. In part: "Thanks so
much for taking the time to write me such a nice letter. It is always so nice to
hear from friends and viewers of Good Morning America, especially when they have
such nice things to say...Thanks for the invitation to stop in at your old motel.
I'll remember it if I'm ever in that area...." Joan Lunden (b. 1950) was
the longest-running co-host on early morning television, co-hosting Good
Morning America from August 1980 through September 1997. The
award-winning broadcast journalist currently brings her unique talents and
experience to the A&E Network with the critically-acclaimed, weekly series,
Behind Closed Doors With Joan Lunden. As a result of her work on this
series, Lunden recently won the highest honor given to a non-Federal civilian
from the US Army, the Decoration for Distinguished Civilian Service. In
addition to bringing her series to A&E, she hosts their award-winning
Biography, as well as numerous documentary and entertainment specials for
