Typed Letter signed: “Joan Waugh” in blue ink as secretary for William Stephens. August 17,
1955. Typed letter from the Friars Club also included. Lightly toned. Staple holes as upper
left-hand corner. Corners and edges gently worn. Otherwise, fine condition. Addressed to
“The Friars Club/ 326 N. Rodeo Drive/ Beverly Hills”. Written to “Gentlemen”. In full: “As of
this date will you please send statements for Mr. William Stephens to 1040 N. Las Palmas,
Hollywood 38./ Will you kindly change your records accordingly./ Thank you/ William Stephens
office/ [signature]/ by Secretary”. Pencil note in an unknown hand on right-hand side of letter.
Lightly toned. Staple holes at upper left-hand corner. Corners and edge gently worn and
creased. Otherwise, fine condition. Secretary Joan Waugh worked for Conne-Stephens, a
business that was incorporated July 17, 1953 in California. William Stephens served as
president of the business and his secretary is writing in response to a typed letter signed from
the Friars Club. The company was the first television production company for which
stocks were offered on public sale. Two items.
