JOCELYN LEMIEUX
Retired NHL left winger signs his name in blue ink
Signature: "Jocelyn Lemieux" in blue felt tip. 4x6. Jocelyn
Lemieux (b. 1967) is a retired NHL left winger whose career lasted twelve
seasons playing for many teams, including the St. Louis Blues
(1986-1988), the Chicago Blackhawks (1989-1994), the Hartford
Whalers (1993-1996), and the Phoenix Coyotes (1996-1998). Playing
over 600 NHL games despite numerous injuries, he was known as a tough
competitor who was effective at agitating his opponents. Drafted by the
Blues in 1985, he had a great rookie season scoring 10 goals and 18 points in
53 games with 94 penalty minutes. He was traded in 1988 to the Canadiens,
but was considered too undisciplined for coach Pat Burns' system and played
mostly minor league until his trade to the Blackhawks were he would spend the
next five seasons. On the Blackhawks he became an important and steady player
who helped his team reach the Stanley Cup finals in 1992. He worked
part-time during his remaining five seasons, retiring in 1999. Corners slight
creased. Light toning in margins. Ink note on verso in unknown hand. Otherwise,
fine condition.
