Autograph Letter signed: “Joe Clark” in blue ink, 1p, 6x5¼ attached to an irregularly cut 10x6 piece of paper. No place, 1983 February 1. To “Dear Mr. Woods”. In full:Enclosed is the 8x10 I promised you. It came out a little light but not too bad. Thanks again for honoring me by wanting my autograph. I am still very flattered whenever I think about it. Thanks again./ Very truly yours”. Enclosure not included. Joe Clark was a football player who graduated from the Maine Maritime Academy in 1983 after playing as a four-year starter and three-year letterman on the team. He was elected as team captain his senior year, and was the very first Mariner to be selected as a NAIA First Team All-American during his senior year. In honor of his outstanding play, Maine Maritime Academy retired his jersey number 75. Paper on which letter is written is lightly toned, creased throughout, and irregularly cut. Ink marking toward top edge of paper to which letter is affixed. Otherwise, fine condition.
