The Boston Red Sox authorizes Radio Station WIND of Chicago, Illinois, to broadcast the exhibition games to be played by the Boston Red Sox on March 13-14 and April 10-11, 1954. Joe Cronin, who served two terms as the American League's President (through January 1974), had been the A.L.'s All-Star shortstop seven times and enjoyed eight 100-RBI seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
