JOE DIMAGGIO and BILL DICKEY
Black and white photograph of the two Yankees standing in the dugout,
signed in blue felt tip.
Photograph signed: "Joe Dimaggio" and "Bill Dickey" in
blue felt tip, B/w 8x10. Joe DiMaggio played centerfield for the New York
Yankees from 1936-1942 and 1946-1951 with a lifetime batting average of
.325. The Hall of Famer was elected to the All-Star team every
year, was American League batting champion in 1939 and 1940 and home run
leader in 1948. He holds the major league consecutive game-hitting
streak of 56 (1941); called baseball's greatest feat by many. He was Most
Valuable Player in 1939, 1941, and 1947. At Baseball's 1969 Centennial
Celebration, he was named the game's greatest living player. Bill
Dickey, the left-handed-hitting premier
catcher of the late 1930s and early 1940s, was the soul of the Yankee
dynasty bridging the Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio eras as a player,
and the Mickey Mantle era as a coach. A key performer for the Yankees on eight
American League pennant-winners and seven World Series championships,
Baseball Hall of Famer Dickey (1907-1993) hit .313 over his 17-year
career. From 1947-1957, Dickey was a Yankee coach. Slightly creased.
Otherwise, fine condition.
