to 1964, Namath led the Alabama Crimson Tide
to a record of 29-4. As Captain of the team, under the coaching of
Paul "Bear" Bryant, he led the 1964 Alabama team to a 24-7 win over Georgia
Tech in the National Championship game. In 1965 Namath signed for
an unheard-of $400,000 as a rookie with the AFL New York Jets. Four years later,
after guaranteeing victory, he led the Jets to a stunning 16-7 upset victory
over the 17-point favorite Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. Namath passed
for 27,663 yards and 173 TDs. He was the first to pass more than 4,000 yards in
one season. Namath was named to the AFL all-time team, was 1968 AFL Player of
the Year and played in three AFL All-Star games. He was enshrined in the Pro
Football Hall of Fame in 1985. Fine condition.
