Commemorative envelope signed "Joe Pepitone" in blue ink. 6¼x3½. Envelope marking the 30th anniversary of the 1964 World Series with a 2¼x2¾ fabric illustration at left edge and 5½x3¼ card of 1964 World Series highlights. Postmarked St. Louis, Missouri, Oct. 15, 1994. One color 29-cent American eagle stamp affixed. Pepitone, born Joseph Anthony Pepitone in 1940, played in the majors from 1962 to 1973, mostly with the New York Yankees. An All Star (1963-1965) and Golden Glove winner (1965, 1966 and 1969) with good power, he had four seasons with 20 home runs or more (1963, 1964, 1969 and 1970) and one season with over 30 home runs (1966). He ended his pro career with a .258 batting average, 219 home runs and 721 RBIs. Pepitone also liked the nightlife, so much so that he spent four months in prison on misdemeanor drug convictions in 1988 and was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 1995. Envelope is open. Lightly toned, otherwise in fine condition.
