Inscribed Printed Photograph Signed in Ink: "To John/ Joe Frazier". Color, 8x10 overall, image 7x8¼ (one surface). Captioned at lower margin. An Olympic gold medal winner, Joe Frazier (1944-2011) went on to reign as the undefeated heavyweight world champion from February 16, 1970 to January 22, 1973. Along the way, Frazier defeated Muhammad Ali at the 1971 heavyweight world championships in New York, in a meeting dubbed "the fight of the century." He later lost to Ali twice, in January 1974 and September 1975. Soon after losing to Foreman again at the 1976 world championships, Frazier retired. He staged an unsuccessful comeback fight in 1981, in which he reached a draw with Floyd Cummings, before retiring for good. Frazier was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990. Lightly creased in upper margin and at lower corners. Ink note on verso (no show-through). Otherwise, fine condition.
