JOEL CRAIG
The actor pens a short letter to John Willis, Editor of Theatre World
Autograph letter signed: "Joel", in blue ink, 8½x11. Written beneath a type letter and facsimile signature from John Willis. In full: "Dear Mr. Willis - Thanks as always for your interest - Here's the latest one [item not included] - It's always a pleasure to be included in your edition - Best regards". Actor JOEL CRAIG has appeared in five Broadway plays; Subways Are For Sleeping (1961), Nowhere To Go But Up (1962), Hello Dolly! (1964), Follies (1971), Cyrano (1973), and Very Good Eddie (1975). He also had minor roles in two films, the first being Sordid Lives (2000). John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Heavy surface creases. Corners slightly worn and creased. Multiple folds. Lightly toned. Lightly soiled on bottom right corner. Pencil notes (unknown hand). Otherwise, fine condition.
