First Day Cover signed: "Joey/Bishop", 6½x3½. FDC for the 1981 Seasons Greetings stamp, Seasons Greetings stamp affixed, postmarked Christmas Valley, Oregon, October 28, 1981, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Nightclub comedian Joey Bishop (born Joseph Abraham Gottleib, 1918-2007), a member of Frank Sinatra's celebrated "Rat Pack", appeared in films in four decades, from The Naked and the Dead (1958) to Mad Dog Time (1996), including Rat Pack films Ocean's Eleven (1960) and Sergeant's Three (1962). He also starred in two TV programs: The Joey Bishop Show (1961-1965), a sitcom, and a late night talk show (1967-1969). Bishop was known for his catch phrase, "Son of a Gun!" Pencil erasures at lower margin touch the descender of the "J" in Joey. Lightly soiled at upper right edge. Overall, fine condition.
