Handwritten note of the stage and screen comedian
Autograph Note signed: "Hey Warren/Thank you/Joey Faye", 5x3½. Unidentified signature on
verso. Comedian Joey Faye (1909-1997, born Joseph Palladino) was an established vaudeville
star before moving to Broadway, where he appeared in 17 shows, sharing the stage with Phil
Silvers in two hit musicals: High Button Shoes (1947) and Top Banana (1952). He also
appeared in the film versions of Top Banana and The Tender Trap (1954, 1955). He
appeared on TV in both variety shows (Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason) and series, including of
course The Phil Silvers Show. He teamed with Mickey Deems for a 1963 vaudeville-inspired
comedy series, Mack & Myer for Hire. Toned at edges. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine
condition.
