sepia-toned, 3¼x5¼, printed on cardstock. Captioned in lower right
corner: "Johanna Gadski". Gadski (1872-1932, born in Anklam, Prussia,
Germany) was a German operatic soprano know for her interpretations of
Richard Wagner. She debuted in Berlin, Germany in 1889 and in the United
States in New York in 1895. A popular opera star in Great Britain and the U.
S., she toured the U. S. multiple times (despite being deported as an enemy
alien during World War II). Lightly toned, soiled, stained, silvered and bowed.
Adhesive residue on verso. Otherwise in fine condition.
