Signature: "John Agar/St. 76366", 2¾x1½, irregularly cut piece of paper. "St. 7 6366" may be his telephone number. An apparently rising star in such war and Western films as She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949), handsome actor John Agar (1921-2002) was largely consigned to low budget science fiction movies after his divorce from Shirley Temple in 1949 (the 27-year-old actor had married 17-year-old Temple in 1945 after a whirlwind courtship). He later appeared in three Westerns with friend John Wayne (1969-1971) and was often sought for film and TV character roles. Blue ink marks at lower left and upper right blank margins. Light paper clip impression at lower right margin touches the lower portion of the "7". Chipped at lower edge. Overall, fine condition.
