JOHN AGAR, CO-SIGNED BY: WILL "SUGARFOOT" HUTCHINS
The two actors known for their roles in Westerns sign this candid photo of the two of them in a friendly embrace
Inscribed photograph signed: "Howdy, Clint!/Will Hutchins/1-19-92" (with a drawing of a rabbit) and "To Clint/God Bless/John Agar/4-14-90" in blue felt. 4x6. Screen and television actor WILL HUTCHINS (b. 1932), born Marshall Lowell Hutchason, played an "aw-shucks" young frontier lawyer, Tom Brewster, on the popular TV series, Sugarfoot (1957-1960). After film roles, which included Merrill's Marauders (1962), TV guest appearances and a shorter-lived series (as Dagwood in Blondie, 1968), free spirit Hutchins moved on to the role of circus clown and ringmaster and traveled widely through the world. He returned to the big screen occasionally, appearing in such films as Maverick (1994) and Gunfighter (1998). An apparently rising star in such war and Western films as She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949), handsome actor JOHN AGAR (1921-2002) was largely consigned to low budget science fiction movies after his divorce from Shirley Temple in 1949 (the 27-year-old actor had married 17-year-old Temple in 1945 after a whirlwind courtship). He later appeared in three Westerns with friend John Wayne (1969-1971) and was often sought for film and TV character roles. Fine condition.
