Autograph sentiment signed: "I hope this is all right/John Arnatt", 5¾x7. On his personal stationery from Surrey, England. John Arnatt (1917-1999) was a Russian-born British actor who was popular in film, television and on stage. Getting his first on-screen appearance in Dick Barton at the Bay (1950), Arnatt later found re-occurring roles on My Friend Charles (1956), The Last Chronicle of Barset (1959), The Adventures of Robin Hood (1957-1960) and Emergency-War 10 (1963-1964). He also played in Whistle Down the Wind (1961), Only Two Can Play (1962) and Doctor Who (1978), from which fans remember him as Time Lord Cardinal Borusa. While he never had much fame, Arnatt amassed over 100 acting credits in his 50 year career, and he steadily worked up until his death in 1999, the same year he was seen in his last on-screen appearance in the British serial Dad.
