Printed Image signed: "John Groth" in pencil at the upper
right. Color, 5½x9 overall, image 4½x8 (one surface) card. Dated 1980.
Painter and illustrator John Groth (1908-1988) was known for his sports and
war themes, executed in his "speed line" technique that was later filled in with
watercolors. He was the Art Director for "Esquire" magazine and an
artist-correspondent during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Fine
condition.
